What’s Going On ?
Bike Borderlands has expanded its network to 16 networks including WMNEMBA! Bike Borderlands is a collaboration of 16 mountain biking destinations across the Northern Forest. We are stoked to join this collaboration! Bike Borderlands has created a Bike Borderlands Strava Club Challenge to encourage riders to visit all of the networks starting June 20. Go to Strava and join the Bike Borderlands Club for details. This is a pretty cool way to show the strength of this group of clubs and networks. Bike Borderlands has been working with these original networks for some time now and really fostered their creation and growth. You might be familiar with the COOS system which has been part of the initial phase of this organization. I’m stoked for the opportunity to work with all of these leaders in continuing to grow Mountain Biking in northern New England. https://bikeborderlands.com/ Electric Loop bridge: Our next trail day, July 6th, will be focused on replacing the long skinny bridge on the Electric loop. More information on when and where to meet will be posted soon. There’s a lot of prep involved in this project so we may reach out for some extra prep help. Adaptive trails: The partnership with Fryeburg Academy was very productive. We ended the project with a visit and presentation from Adaptive Sports Partners complete with an aMTB that the students got to try out. We will be working with their organization in the future to evaluate our network for more adaptive opportunities.
Youth cycling program: Cranmore Mtn Resort has partnered with NEMBA and WMNEMBA to offer access to their facilities during the program. This will allow us to provide both trail and gravity experiences to the participants. The program will run from June 26th to august 14th on Thursday mornings from 9 to noon. WMNEMBA youth program
